Meghan Markle may want one thing from King Charles on her return to the UK this July.

The Duchess of Sussex is aiming to snatch up her opportunity for a family photograph with the King and his estranged grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, royal insiders have claimed. Currently, no such photo with the Sussex children and His Majesty is known to exist.

Speaking to Daily Express columnist Carole Malone in an explosive episode of the Daily Expresso show, host JJ Anisiobi revealed Meghan’s apparent plan. He said: “The critics are saying she really wants to get a photograph with King Charles.”

But while JJ suggested the family may simply want to capture a “lovely moment for the grandfather to see his grandkids”, Ms Malone did not hold back in her views regarding the Duchess’s alleged scheme.

Laying bare her scepticism, Ms Malone said: “Of course she does. And why does she want this? ‘Oh, let’s sell this everywhere.’ This will make a whole load of new magazine interviews. This would be another documentary. This would be ‘we’re making up with the Royal Family.’

“This is why a lot of royals don’t want [Harry and Meghan] back, because when you’ve been out of the institution for a long time, which they have been for seven years now, it’s very hard to put you back in the institutional cage to follow the rules. They will never do what they’re told.”

Comments come as an insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty but Nice that a single photograph featuring King Charles with Harry, Meghan, and their children could become one of the most defining royal images of the whole decade. The Times also wrote that such a photo would be the “money shot”.

The Sussexes are set to fly to the UK as a family, the first time in four years, in a few weeks. News of their shock return has triggered speculation about reconciliation with the rest of the Royal Family, particularly King Charles and Prince William.
